New Years

As long as I could remember, my New Years tradition included my mother getting out pots and pans, and us banging them as loud as possible when the clock stuck 12.

As I got older, it was a night out with friends decked out in sequins, heels, and no coat (so we didn’t lose quality items in a pile that was assumed to be a coat check).

Fast forward to the recent five years and New Years involves the famous Nerf gun battle with friends, some sensible appetizers, and a glass of champagne or two. This tradition has been followed up by eating some sauerkraut on New Years day for luck.
