Cream Cheese Pastry

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. cream cheese
  • 1 lb. butter or half Crisco and half butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4.5 cups of flour (sometimes use 5)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Mix cheese and shortening with hands, add yolks, and vanilla continue working until well blended. Add sifted flour and baking powder, mix well. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Bake in oven for fifteen (15) minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.

Cottage Cheese Ingredients:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • gareth lemon rind
